Healing Experience of a Cancer Patient

Guru Story - by Gopalakrishnanji

Some time back an Art of Living devotee came to me with his astounding healing experience, which I wish to share with you all.

Sri. P.Subramaniam aged 28 years, working in a small-scale engineering Unit. He earns a measly income just sufficient for him and his parents to make ends meet. The nature of the industry in which he is working is unpredictable and there are times when he has to strain himself for long hours to earn adequately to survive, thus resulting in the wear and tear of his health.

About a year and half ago he had persistent fever, body pain and had difficulty in eating and was diagnosed for Testicular Embryonal Carcinoma, a malignant germ cell tumor that occurs mostly in the testes. This type of tumor (cancerous) grows rapidly and spreads to the lungs and liver. He underwent Orchidectomy; an operation to remove the testicle and this was done to slow down the growth and spreading of prostate cancer. After the treatment, he somehow managed to carry on.

After about a year, that is during April, 2004, he developed similar symptoms of fever, chest discomfort, multiple swelling in the neck and sleeplessness. He was admitted in a local hospital and on diagnosis it was found to be Testicular Tumor and Lymph Node Metastasis a type of cancer spreading through the blood. He was given chemotherapy first on 20.4.2004 and second on 7.5.2004 and third on 31.5.2004.

For the fourth chemotherapy he did not have sufficient money and therefore he approached Sri. M.Sendhilkumar, an Industrialist and a very devoted volunteer of AOL Coimbatore. Sri.Sendhilkumar not only helped him but also put him in the AOL Part I Course.

He joined the course on 14.6.2004 and on 17th after the first Sudarshan Kriya he experienced shocks and acute pain in the body and was disinclined to go to the course on the subsequent day, but with divine grace prevailing, he did the second Sudarshan Kriya which made him feel relaxed, energized and joyful. As he felt free from all the fears that were tormenting him, he wanted to shout and proclaim his happiness. It was a kind of rebirth for him and after so many months that night he slept very well. With Gurudev's blessings he experienced deep rest.
Within a week after completion of the course, he took a haemogram test and the results were encouraging. The Doctor asked him to come back after a month and he had another haemogram test on 19.7.2004, which showed vast improvement, and he had become normal. This was further confirmed with another haemogram test on 21.09.2004 and finally he was back to his work with an added smile on his face.

Normally the side effects of chemotherapy are frightening as it leads to loss of hair in the scalp and in other parts of the body. It creates anemia and the patient gets tired easily, there could be difficulty in breathing and overall pain in the body. In the case of Sri.Subramaniam, he was indeed fortunate that his doing the sadhanas regularly two times a day eliminated the side effects. He does not feel tired at all and works with full enthusiasm and last but not the least the hair in his scalp is growing very fast and this is certainly a sign of his returning back to normalcy. He is confident that only because of the AOL Course he has been able to overcome the dreaded disease called cancer and is willing for any scientific study on his amazing healing experience.

While I was listening to the miracle I could feel tears rolling out of my eyes. Gurudev has saved the life of the sole breadwinner of a family. Along with Sri.Subramaniam and his family I am also grateful to my Divine Master for strengthening my confidence in Him.

"LOVE" at first sight ..:-)

Inspite of being born and brought up in Bangalore, I never had an oppurtunity to do an AOL course. Infact, I wasn’t aware that such an organization existed and about the concept of a GURU!

But I guess (because of HIS grace) even my time had come to do the course, while I was at Trichy in Feb 2005. Since then I was regular with Kriya but never had any interest to meet Guruji then.
Although I had gone to Bangalore ashram many times, but I never felt like meeting HIM even once.(as I used to have this belief that all "Living Guru's" are there just to mint "Money " and are "fake")

Well, well HE would not leave you.....
There was a storm in my life in 2006 which ruined me and my family completely.
Shattered...Depressed...No confidence left; I had no hope for improvement and was angry on everyone around!

To escape from all trauma-struck family members, I registered for the DSN course at the ashram in Jan2007. For the first 2 days of the DSN, I was not happy and wanted to run away. I avoided Seva and never felt like attending satsang and also used to bunk sessions......

But the NAUGHTY GURU had something interesting in store for me…
On the 3rd day, I was called on the dias to share the experience of one of the processes.

I went ahead and in front of 175 odd people, instead of sharing my experience, I told "THIS MAN (pointing to Guruji's photo) is just a fake! HE has ruined my life..."

Argh...Everyone was stunned!!After telling this, I just sat down as if nothing had happened!

That evening, as usual, not being interested in attending the satsang, I stood outside Visalakshi Mantap. There was no one around, "Ah,so much peace!" - I thought to myself.
Then something in me changed; I was charged up with energy!
I could feel something BIG, hmm.........a store house of energy.........coming towards me!!

I just went near the entrance of VM and Ahooooo!!!! I saw Guruji walking alone towards me and HE stood next to me, staring at my eyes!!!

I was blank and did not know how to react.....
Then somehow I managed to ask HIM "Guruji, My Life problem....uh..uh.." and I stopped.
HE looked into my eyes, hit my left hand thrice and said,
"Naanu Nodkothini Amma" (in Kannada)
meaning " I will take care of you amma" !

AHHHH! I was spell bound, totally blank!!
I came inside the VM and and sat in a corner; there was no one near me.

HE then, turned towards me and asked " Are you happy?" and I turned around, confused (with my eyesbrows up!!) to see who was HE asking...No one there!!

Again HE asked me"Are you happy?" I did not react...

Then, with a smile,HE saw me and spoke "If you are happy or not, its ok,we'll now meditate" !!!
And that meditation which HE took....I JUST CANNOT FORGET !! IT WAS JUST FOR ME!!

For me to get out of all the depression and anger; out of everything!!From then on.....hmmmm....love for HIM is just unexpressible.I got my GURU.

Cant express in words how grateful am I ......Only tears roll down, with a smile on face...
This experience ,even now is so fresh in my mind!

Jai Guru Dev.... HIS LOVE :-)

Grace is there coz Grace is there!!!

One of the teachers passed this guru story....

One afternoon in Bali, Guruji picked on this girl amidst 700 ppl doing thecourse and asked her to meet Him later. It turned out, that girl was planning to commit suicide right after the course (she was forced to sit through it).

Guruji "tried" cajoling her to change her stupid thinking and when nothing worked.....His voice became stern!

HE said "Do you know how many times have you been on this planet.....18times as a donkey...14 times as a dog...."

He contd ..."Do you know how precious is this human birth haaan....and in this birth you get to see ME...Do you even realize this is such a BIG blessing.... you get to sit in MY satsang and it's only because of MY GRACE!"

Nothing moved after that....the air was still and the room went beyond the realm of time and space!

After hearing to this,I sat there in one corner with goosebumps all over my body and tears in my eyes!

I realized...We haven't chosen this path.....this path has chosen US!

With all my innocence and love, I bow down to the Master of the Universe.

The sign of true devotion is unstoppable tears.

We are indeed Blessed.

Jai Guru Dev....

Break YOUR habits....by APJ

APJ's note on "Power of Positive talk" ..Very inspiring...

I remember my dad teaching me the power of language at a very young age.

Not only did my dad understand that specific words affect our mental pictures, but he understood words are a powerful programming factor in lifelong success.

One particularly interesting event occurred when I was eight. As a kid, I was always climbing trees, poles, and literally hanging around upside down from the rafters of our lake house.

So, it came to no surprise for my dad to find me at the top of a 30-foot tree swinging back and forth. My little eight-year-old brain didn't realize the tree could break or I could get hurt.

I just thought it was fun to be up so high.

My older cousin, Tammy, was also in the same tree. She was hanging on the first big limb, about ten feet below me. Tammy's mother also noticed us at the exact time my dad did. About that time a huge gust of wind came over the tree. I could hear the leaves start to rattle and the tree begin to sway..

I remember my dad's voice over the wind yell, 'Bart, Hold on tightly.' So I did. The next thing I know, I heard Tammy screaming at the top of her lungs, laying flat on the ground. She had fallen out of the tree.I scampered down the tree to safety. My dad later told me why she fell and I did not.

Apparently, when Tammy's mother felt the gust of wind, she yelled out, 'Tammy, don't fall!' And Tammy did... fall.My dad then explained to me that the mind has a very difficult time processing a negative image. In fact, people who rely on internal pictures cannot see a negative at all.

In order for Tammy to process the command of not falling, her nine-year-old brain had to first imagine falling, then try to tell the brain not to do what it just imagined. Whereas, my eight-year-old brain instantly had an internal image of me hanging on tightly.

This concept is especially useful when you are attempting to break a habit or set a goal. You can't visualize not doing something. The only way to properly visualize not doing something is to actually find a word for what you want to do and visualize that.

Here is a very easy demonstration to teach your kids and your friends the power of a toxic vocabulary. Ask them to hold a pen or pencil. Hand it to them. Now, follow my instructions carefully.

Say to them, 'Okay, try to drop the pencil.' Observe what they do.

Most people release their hands and watch the pencil hit the floor. You respond, 'You weren't paying attention.

I said TRY to drop the pencil. Now please do it again.' Most people then pick up the pencil and pretend to be in excruciating pain while their hand tries but fails to drop the pencil.

The point is made.If you tell your brain you will 'give it a try,' you are actually telling your brain to fail. I have a 'no try' rule in my house and with everyone I interact with.

Either people will do it or they won't. Either they will be at the party or they won't.

I'm brutal when people attempt to lie to me by using the word try.

Do they think I don't know they are really telegraphing to the world they have no intention of doing it but they want me to give them brownie points for pretended effort?

You will never hear the words 'I'll try' come out of my mouth unless I'm teaching this concept in a seminar. If you 'try' and do something, your unconscious mind has permission not to succeed. If I truly can't make a decision I will tell the truth.
'Sorry John. I'm not sure if I will be at your party or not. I've got an outstanding commitment.
If that falls through, I will be here. Otherwise, I will not. Thanks for the invite.'People respect honesty. So remove the word 'try' from your vocabulary.

My dad also told me that psychologists claim it takes seventeen positive statements to offset one negative statement. I have no idea if it is true, but the logic holds true. It might take up to seventeen compliments to offset the emotional damage of one harsh criticism. These are concepts that are especially useful when raising children.

Ask yourself how many compliments you give yourself daily versus how many criticisms. Heck, I know you are talking to yourself all day long. We all have internal voices that give us direction. So, are you giving yourself the 17:1 ratio or are you shortchanging yourself with toxic self-talk like, ' I'm fat. Nobody will like me. I'll try this diet. I'm not good enough. I'm so stupid. I'm broke, etc. etc.'

If our parents can set a lifetime of programming with one wrong statement, imagine the kind of programming you are doing on a daily basis with your own internal dialogue. Here is a list of Toxic Vocabulary words.Notice when you or other people use them.
Ø But: Negates any words that are stated before it.
Ø Try: Presupposes failure.
Ø If: Presupposes that you may not.
Ø Might: It does nothing definite. It leaves options for your listener.
Ø Would Have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen.
Ø Should Have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen (and implies guilt.)
Ø Could Have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen but the person tries to take credit as if it did happen
Ø Can't/Don't: These words force the listener to focus on exactly the opposite of what you want. This is a classic mistake that parents and coaches make without knowing the damage of this linguistic error.

Examples:Toxic phrase: 'Don't drop the ball!'Likely result: Drops the ballBetter language: 'Catch the ball!'Toxic phrase: 'You shouldn't watch so much television.'Likely result: Watches more television.Better language: 'I read too much television makes people stupid. You might find yourself turning that TV off and picking up one of those books more often!

'Exercise: Take a moment to write down all the phrases you use on a daily basis or any Toxic self-talk that you have noticed yourself using. Write these phrases down so you will begin to catch yourself as they occur and change them.

Understanding Economy

If you have difficulty understanding the current world financial situation, the following should help........

Once upon a time in a village in India , a man announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10. The villagers seeing there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at $10, but, as the supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. The man further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer rate increased to $25 and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now act as buyer, on his behalf.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers: ' Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when he returns from the city, you can sell them back to him for $50. '

The villagers squeezed together their savings and bought all the monkeys. Then they never saw the man or his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere!

Welcome to WALL STREET....................................:-)

THE LAST SUPPER

Got a foward few days back.... a thought provoking story of the painting of "The last supper"..Read on and mail your comments .......

The story of the painting of The Last Supper is extremely interesting and instructive, and two incidents connected with it offer, a most convincing lesson on the effects of right thinking or wrong thinking in the life of a boy or girl, or of a man or woman.

Leonardo Da Vinci, the noted Italian artist painted the Last Supper. It took seven years for him to complete it. The figures representing the twelve Apostles and Christ himself were painted from living persons. The life-model for the painting of the figure of Jesus was chosen first.
When it was decided that Da Vinci would paint this great picture, hundreds and hundreds of young men were carefully viewed in an endeavor to find a face and personality exhibiting innocence and beauty, free from the scars and signs of dissipation caused by sin.

Finally, after weeks of laborious search, a young man nineteen years of age was selected as a model for the portrayal of Christ. For six months Da Vinci worked on the production of this leading character of his famous painting. During the next six years Da Vinci continued his labours on this sublime work of art. One by one fitting persons were chosen to represent each of the eleven Apostles -- with space being left for the painting of the figure representing Judas Iscariot as the final task of this masterpiece.

This was the Apostle, you remember, who betrayed his Lord for thirty pieces of silver. For weeks Da Vinci searched for a man with a hard, callous face, with a countenance marked by scars of avarice, deceit, hypocrisy, and crime. A face that would delineate a character who would betray his best friend.

After many discouraging experiences in searching for the type of person required to represent Judas, word came to Da Vinci that a man whose appearance fully met his requirements had been found in a dungeon in Rome, sentenced to die for a life of crime and murder. Da Vinci made the trip to Rome at once, and this man was brought out from his imprisonment in the dungeon and led out into the light of the sun. There Da Vinci saw before him a dark, swarthy man his long shaggy and unkempt hair sprawled over his face, which betrayed character of viciousness and complete ruin.

At last the famous painter had found the person he wanted to represent the character of Judas in his painting. By special permission from the king, this prisoner was carried to Milan where the picture was being painted. For months he sat before Da Vinci at appointed hours each day as the gifted artist diligently continued his task of transmitting, to his painting, this base character representing the traitor and betrayer of our Saviour.

As he finished his last stroke, he turned to the guards and said, I have finished. You may take the prisoner away. As the guards were leading their prisoner away, he suddenly broke loose from their control and rushed up to Da Vinci, crying as he did so, "Da Vinci, look at me. Do you not know who I am?" Da Vinci, with the trained eyes of a great character student, carefully scrutinized the man upon whose face he had constantly gazed for six months and replied, "No, I have never seen you in my life until you were brought before me out of the dungeon in Rome."

Then, lifting his eyes toward heaven, the prisoner said, "Oh God, have I fallen so low?" Then turning his face to the painter he cried, "Leonardo Da Vinci, look at me again for I am the same man you painted just seven years ago as the figure of Christ."

The Decisive Turning Point - by The Mother

Get set go.....Its TIME for all of us to turn into gold.
A beautiful quote from "The Mother" of Pondicherry ashram...a must read for all seekers.Read on....

At the moment we are at a decisive turning point in the history of theearth, once again.

From every side I am asked, "What is going to happen ?"Everywhere there is anguish, expectation, fear. "What is going to happen?

"There is only one reply: "If only man could consent to be spiritual-ised."
And perhaps it would be enough if some individuals became pure gold, for this would be enough to change the course of events..it We are faced withthis necessity in a very urgent way.
This courage, this heroism which the Divine wants of us, why not use it to fight against one's own difficulties, one's own imperfections, one's own obscurities?
Why not heroically face the furnace of inner purification so that it does not become necessary to pass once more through one of thoseterrible, gigantic destructions which plunge an entire civilisation into darkness? This is the problem before us. It is for each one to solve it in his own way.
-The Mother
